Founded in 1643 as the headquarters of the Accademia degli Erranti, the ancient building of the Teatro Grande has been one of the most valuable treasures of the city's cultural and artistic activity since its inception, witnessing some of the historical events that have marked the city of Brescia.
The cultural tourism activities undertaken by the Fondazione del Teatro Grande aim to offer visitors the opportunity to discover this unique history and immerse themselves in the historical and artistic heritage of one of the city's most beloved places.
The rooms of the Teatro Grande are revealed to visitors through a rich program of guided tours, which allow to discover the splendid Sala Grande, along with some of the spaces not usually open to the public.
Visits can last 60 or 90 minutes, depending on the activity offered, and take place across multiple levels of the Theatre.
Tickets can be purchased online on the dedicated page for the chosen visit or at the Theatre Ticket Office.
The meeting point for all tours is the Sala delle Statue. Access is always via the main entrance of the Theatre (Corso Zanardelli, 9).

Guided tours are generally conducted in Italian. However, if all participants in the group request it, they can be carried out in English or French.

The Teatro Grande has an accessible entrance on the Ridotto side, which can be accessed by following the signs in Piazzetta Paganora.

Alla Scoperta del Teatro Grande is the traditional tour that recounts the exceptional history of the building, from its origins as the 17th-century Accademia degli Erranti to its transformation into a traditional Italian theater. The tour lasts 60 minutes, during which you can admire the Ridotto del Teatro (theater foyer) – one of the most evocative architectural wonders of the city of Brescia – the Sala Grande with its unmistakable layout, and the splendid Sala delle Statue which, with over 200 years of history, has recently been restored.
The Raccontami del Grande tour – recommended for visitors over 65 – is an opportunity to bring our fathers and mothers, our grandmothers and grandfathers to the theatre and relive together the memories of years gone by linked to the magnificent Teatro Grande. The tour ends with a moment of conviviality over tea at the Caffè del Teatro Grande – Berlucchi.
A shortened version of the traditional Alla scoperta del Teatro Grande tour, designed for children aged 6 to 11. This tour opens the doors to some of the most evocative rooms in the Teatro Grande, recounting the most curious and little-known anecdotes about them.
With the Caccia al tesoro del Grande, a special treasure hunt, we invite children to discover the wonders of the theater through quizzes and small games of skill. The experience ends with a snack at the Caffè del Teatro Grande – Berlucchi for our little explorers.
Che favola di Teatro! is a journey that reveals some of the most evocative stories of Brescia's Teatro Grande, preserved in an antique revolving display case that children are invited to operate. Seated in the theater, participants listen to stories and interesting facts and can invent new stories surrounded by the magical atmosphere of the Grande.
The summer special guided tour Grand Tour is conducted by several members of the Teatro Grande staff, offering visitors the chance to discover the theater's machinery and backstage areas. The Grand Tour takes the visitors on a journey of discovery to places of timeless charm, including the evocative stage — which can only be visited during the Grand Tours — and some places that are not usually open to the public, such as the Sala della Deputazione — a treasure trove of images and autographs of the artists who have been on our stage.
