Facciamo la Banda

Music education project

The Facciamo la Banda project, promoted since 2017 by the Fondazione del Teatro Grande di Brescia and carried out in collaboration with the Associazione Filarmonica “Isidoro Capitanio” Banda cittadina di Brescia, is a music education opportunity that allows participants to learn to play an instrument and form a new band of young musicians.

Every year, the project is aimed at children aged 9 to 12, with a program of training sessions and lessons throughout the school year, which aims to raise awareness of music among the new generation, stimulating curiosity and creative skills.

A valuable educational experience that goes beyond a purely theoretical approach to focus on the more exciting and practical aspect of “making music.” The group has the opportunity to attend instrument lessons (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, percussion), learn more about technique, and participate in ensemble music practice.

At the end of each study period, students are given the opportunity to perform in a special final concert at the Teatro Grande. In addition, upon completion of the second year of study, each participant is given the instrument on which they trained.

Information

The project is aimed at children aged 9 to 12, who will be able to discover instruments such as the flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, horn, trombone, and percussion.

Instrument and ensemble lessons are generally held from October to May for two hours per week in the afternoon on one day of the week, after school, at the Teatro Grande and the headquarters of the Banda.

Before participating, those enrolled will be able to take part in an introductory and orientation meeting at the Teatro Grande to help them choose their instrument. Instruments will be provided to participants and will be given as gifts to all students who complete the second year of the project after the first year. At the end of the courses, students will perform in a special concert on the stage of the Teatro Grande.
