Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Radouan Mriziga / Rosas, A7LA5

In Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga embark on an exploration of Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. The starting point for this new choreographic creation is the recording of the famous Vivaldi cycle made by violinist Amandine Beyer together with her ensemble, Gli Incogniti. De Keersmaeker and Mriziga share a concern for our changing relationship with the environment and decide to contemplate the four seasons in nature through the analysis of the musical structure, seeking new explorations of the patterns present in the natural world and in celestial configurations as potential choreographic matrices, while also strongly bringing to light the urgency of the ongoing climate crisis. In Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione, multiple threads intertwine to create a unique choreographic language. The work aims to return to the core, to the structure of Vivaldi’s celebrated composition and to the countless associations and emotions it evokes, while at the same time offering a choreographic counterpoint. At the same time, the dance highlights how in The Four Seasons, in their familiarity as well as in the familiarity of nature, something deeply contemplative can still reside.
